Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What can I expect in therapy?

A. Going to a therapist can be a worthwhile growing and stabilizing experience. Therapy is beneficial for when you have specific problems, interpersonal problems, or if you are generally feeling down. You can go to a therapist once, for a few months or embark on long-term therapy–each depends on different expectations and goals. You can expect therapy to be a rich and rewarding experience; however the process often involves hard work and honest communication.

Q. Is therapy confidential?

A. Sessions are confidential except for the following circumstances:

  • If you are threatening to hurt yourself or others

  • If you or your child reports child abuse or elder abuse

  • Additionally, your records may be subpoenaed if you are involved in legal issues which involve your mental health.

Q. How long are sessions?

A. Each session is typically 50 minutes and takes place once a week. Longer sessions are available by contacting me prior to the scheduled appointment.

Q. What is your fee for service?

A. 50 minute sessions range between $190.00 and $250.00. Insurance is not accepted. However, a bill will be provided to you for submission to your health insurance provider. In most cases, you will be reimbursed at your provider’s out-of-network rate. Please check with your provider for further information.

Q. Do you offer reduced fees?

A. Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis. I offer sliding scale appointments based on your income and ability to pay.
